Internet Setup for Mac OS version 8.1 and above

1. Go to your Mac Hard Drive Icon and find the Folder named Internet

2. Double Click the Internet Setup Assistant

3. On the first window select Yes

4. Select Yes beside Do you already have an Internet Account

5. Click the Right arrow to Continue

6. Type in bbc.net for the configuration name

7. Check the Modem option

8. Click on the Right arrow to Continue

9. Make sure that the modem selected is your modem

10. Choose your modem port (usually it is the Internal Modem port)

11. Set your line to Tone and make sure that Ignore Dial Tone is not selected

12. Click the Right Arrow to continue

13. Type in your local access number

14. Type in your username and password

15. Click the Right arrow to continue

16. Click No on the PPP Connect Scripts and Click the arrow to continue

17. Click No on the IP Address Page and click the arrow to continue

18. Click the DNS Address box and type 63.172.252.11 press enter then type 63.172.252.12

19. In the Domain Name type bbc.net and click the arrow to continue

20. Type in your Email Address and click the arrow to continue

21. Type in your Email Address

22. Type in mail.bbc.net for the SMTP email host click the arrow to continue

23. Type in news.bbc.net for the Newsgroup Host and click the arrow to continue

24. Click No on the Proxies page and click the arrow to continue

25. Select Connect when Finished (optional) and select Go Ahead on the Conclusion Page

Internet Setup for Mac OS X

1. Select the Apple Menu

2. Select System Preferences

3. Double Click on the Internet

4. Select the Email Tab

5. Select Outlook Express under Default Email Reader

6. Uncheck iTools Email Account

7. Enter your email address

8. The Incoming Mail Server is mail.bbc.net

9. Select POP

10. Enter your Username and Password

11. The Outgoing Mail Server is mail.bbc.net

12. Select the Web Tab

13. Choose Internet Explorer for your default Web Browser

14. Enter http://www.bbc.net for the Homepage

15. Enter a search page if you would like ex. http://www.google.com

16. The Default download directory should already be set

17. Select the News Tab and enter news.bbc.net for the server

18. Select Guest User

19. Select the Network option at the top of the Window

20. Choose New Location – Delete the untitled and enter bbc.net

21. Select Internal Modem next to Configure (if that is the type of modem you are using)

22. Select the TCP/IP tab

23. Select Using PPP next to Configure

24. In the Domain Name Servers type in 63.172.252.11 and 63.172.252.12

25. In the Search Domains enter bbc.net

26. Select the PPP tab

27. Type in bbc.net in the Service Provider

28. Enter your Local Access Number in the Telephone number field

29. Type in your username in the Account name field and your Password in the Password Field

30. Select Save Password

31. Select the Proxies tab and verify that nothing is selected

32. Select the Modem Tab and make sure that your modem is selected and the sound is on (optional)

33. Under Dialing Select Tone and Wait for dial tone before dialing

34. Close the Internet Window and click the Save button
