Click the Outlook
Express icon on the desktop

Click on Tools
on the menu at the top screen

Scroll down to Accounts

You will then see
an internet accounts window

Click on the Mail
tab

You will then see
the account listed underneath Account

Click on the properties
box on the right
8.
At the top of the
window where it says to “Type the name by which you would like refer to these
servers”. Type bbc.net
9.
Make sure your
full first and last name is typed correctly
10. Make sure your email address is typed in correctly (All
lowercase) ex. username@bbc.net
11. Click on Apply only, not OK (if changes were made
to screen)
12. Click on the Servers tab up above
13. At the top of window where it says “My incoming
mail server is a ____ server”. The server type is a POP 3
14. The incoming mail server is mail.bbc.net
15. The outgoing mail SMTP is mail.bbc.net
16. Make sure the account name is the user name
only (Ex. your email address without the @bbc.net)
17. Retype your password, making sure it is all lowercase
18. You can check “remember password” if you want your
computer to remember your password, so that you do not have to type it
in every time you check your email.
19. Click Apply, not OK (if changes were made to
servers screen.)
20. Click on the Connection tab up above
21. Check the “Connect to this acct using” box
22. Choose from the down arrow, so that Local Area Network
is in the space provided
23. Click Apply first
24. Now click OK
25. Now close out of your Outlook Express and return back
to the desktop
26. Click on start
27. Scroll up to Shutdown
28. When your computer asks you :What you want your
computer to do?”, choose restart
29. Your computer will now turn off then turn on, on its
own
32. When you return back to your desktop, you should be
able to check your email through Outlook Express.
